Seventeen — that’s the number of hours of daylight that summertime brings to the Horse Heaven Hills, where we grow the grapes for our unforgettable Sauvignon Blanc.
Lying adjacent to the Columbia River, the Horse Heaven Hills is defined by abundant sunshine and growing degree days, paired with persistent winds to keep mildew and disease pressure low, and very cool nights, which allows for a long fruit hang time, resulting in acid retention and flavor intensity.
Energy, innovation, and warmth are what make Lacey Steffey the perfect fit for the role of Head Winemaker at Estival, the brand that brings the inviting delight of Horse Heaven Hills’ aromatic white wines.
After working in California wine country, Lacey and her family relocated to Washington State in 2015 where she assumed roles such as Harvest Enologist, Vintage Assistant, and Traveling Winemaker before landing with Estival as Head Winemaker to craft the first vintage of Estival.
Focused on vibrant, aromatic white wines from Washington’s stunning Horse Heaven Hills, much like Estival itself, Lacey brings a radiant nature to her winemaking philosophy, embodying the region’s distinct energy, diversity, and refreshing character.
We encourage responsible enjoyment of our wines.
